Remembrance Sunday 13th Nov

9.30: Parish Mass of Requiem
for those who fell in the 2 Great Wars and since.
Attended by Major Tyler Beal of USAAF Lakenheath, and representatives of the Parish Council, Wetheringsett Parish Council and Uniformed organisations.
ALL WELCOME
Candles will again be lit and presented for each of the men of Mendlesham who fell in the 2 World Wars & the Korean War.
Another 288 candles will already be alight for the 288 US servicemen stationed at Mendlesham Airfield who died on active service in WW2
2 minutes silence is observed.
The service concludes at the US memorial in the churchyard.
Coffee & tea afterwards. All Welcome.

Sunday Mass 6th November 2022 - 32nd Sunday year C - 9.30

Everyone will be given a candle. These will be blessed during Mass and we will take them to light and place on the Lady Chapel Altar as a sign of prayer for our departed relatives and friends.

Christian Aid Week

A wonderful result from Mendlesham Parish this year, totalling £1614.08 (£1516.18 + £98.90 Gift Aid)
The Coffee Morning at the URC raised £200, House-to-House collections in Mendlesham & Mendlesham Green raised £1086.18 and Online donations £230.
Thank you to everyone who supported this worthwhile cause.

Additional Curates Society
Collection in Lent raised £344.96. Thank you to all who gave.

Ukraine Appeal

Fr Philip writes: We are all concerned about the situation in Ukraine. I urge you to use the Universal Prayer for Peace daily:

Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth;
lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust;
lead me from hate to love, from war to peace.
Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe.
Peace, Peace, Peace.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which comprises 15 leading UK charities, including Christian Aid, Save the Children, Tear Fund, World Vision and British Red Cross have a Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Millions of people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine, leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones. They need shelter, food and water. Those remaining also need help.
